bluegrass 101
workshops

Do you love bluegrass music?

Do you sing, play an instrument, jam with friends, even play in a band but don't know how all of the parts "fit"?

Bluegrass 101 is a 4-week workshop designed to help bluegrassers of all abilities gain skill and confidence in playing this uniquely American music.  Students are encouraged to bring themselves, their instrument of choice and a willingness to make new musical friends!

I'll guide participants though the basics of lead and harmony singing, instrumentals, harmony development and ensemble construction.  As a group, we will choose several representative tunes and break each one down into easily understandable components.  The goals of Bluegrass 101 are to learn and to have fun!

The workshop is held at the Bluewater Center in South Burlington, Vermont (just off Shelburne Road) in the fall and winter months.  Sessions take place on Saturdays from 1 -3PM  for 4 consecutive weeks.  The fee for the workshop is $100.00.

Contact me anytime for information about the next available Bluegrass 101 workshop.  Pre-registration is required, and when you sign up, I'll provide you with a downloadable form and all of the specifics.
